J. Bryan Dexter is originally from Provo, Utah, but was raised principally in Scottsdale, Arizona. He graduated from Brophy College Preparatory, Arizona's only Jesuit High School. He served as a volunteer missionary for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints from 1985 to 1987 in Milan, Italy.
Bryan majored jointly in psychology and Italian at Brigham Young University. He taught an Italian class while an undergraduate at BYU. Later, while attending Southern Illinois University School of Law, Bryan served as legal writing assistant for the legal writing course. In addition, he completed a paid internship at Land of Lincoln Legal Assistance Foundation. In this capacity he represented indigent clients in all aspects of family law.
Bryan began practice at Dexter & Dexter's current location after graduating from law school and being admitted to the bar in 1995. His practice includes bankruptcy (debtor and creditor), criminal defense, real estate, and civil matters. In addition to being a licensed (inactive) real estate agent in Utah, Bryan is a member of the Utah and Colorado State Bars (inactive in CO) and is admitted to the United States District and Bankruptcy Courts for the District of Utah. Bryan lives in Utah Valley with his wife and five children. His interests include hiking, ATV riding, reading and traveling.
