Matthew L. Tuttle was born in Provo and raised in Boise, Idaho. He attended Brigham Young University where he pursued a degree in Exercise Science and completed minors in Business Management and Zoology. In 1997 Matt postponed his university studies to serve a two year Spanish speaking mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Milwaukee, Wisconsin.
Upon returning home from his mission, Matt married Kathryn Sonners Tuttle and completed his degree from Brigham Young University. While attending Brigham Young University, Matt interned with Dexter & Dexter in the bankruptcy department under Bryan Dexter.
Matt continued his education with a Presidential Scholarship at Seton Hall University School of Law in Newark, New Jersey, from which he earned the degree of Juris Doctor. While attending Seton Hall, Matt researched cutting-edge copyright and other intellectual property issues with Professor Frank Pasquale. Matt also conducted bankruptcy research on a project funded by the American Bankruptcy Institute, under the direction of Professor Stephen Lubben.
