Chris Dexter was born in Provo, Utah, and was raised in Alaska, New Zealand and Arizona. After serving a two-year, Spanish-speaking mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Chile and as a paid Intern for Senator E. J. “Jake” Garn in Washington, DC, he graduated from Brigham Young University with a Bachelor’s Degree in Political Science.

Mr. Dexter then continued his education in the state of Illinois, where he earned the degree of Juris Doctor from Southern Illinois University School of Law. He then returned to Utah to pursue his legal career. He and his wife, the former Jennifer Bennett of Boise, Idaho, live in Lindon, Utah with their four children.

Chris is admitted to practice before the United States Supreme Court, the District Court District of Utah and all Utah courts including the Utah Supreme Court.  His areas of practice include personal injury (including wrongful death and aviation law), real estate and business law. Mr. Dexter is an experienced personal injury attorney. For nearly five years, he represented the interests of the world’s largest insurer, State Farm Insurance Companies. During his tenure at State Farm, he handled thousands of claims and defended State Farm and its policyholders in court, in addition to investigating insurance fraud as a member of its Special Investigative Unit (”SIU”). Mr. Dexter has experience with cases involving wrongful death, traumatic brain injury, aviation law, catastrophic injury, auto accidents including auto-pedestrian cases.

In his private practice as a criminal defense attorney, Mr. Dexter draws on his experience prosecuting criminal cases in the State of Illinois. This experience has enabled him to scrutinize and litigate charges in such a manner so as to protect the rights of the accused.

Chris is an experienced real estate attorney. As a licensee of the Utah Division of Real Estate, counsel for real estate professionals and one who represents buyers and sellers of real property, he has a unique perspective.
