ANNULMENT

An annulment is the process of legally voiding a marriage and places the parties back in the status of single individuals without the obligations that accompany a divorce.  In order to qualify for an annulment, a person must prove that sufficient grounds under Utah law exist to justify voiding the marriage.

Annulments are not easy to obtain and require that the requesting party attend an evidentiary hearing before a judge.  Matters may also be complicated where property or assets have been jointly acquired or transferred.
